Solomons Island was truly a highlight of the trip. The first time, we
only stayed one day but we found the dingy dock, grocery store, laundry,
West Marine, and a great wine shop - all within walking distance. The
second trip there, on our way back to N.C., was even better. We had
free wireless at anchor and saw tons of wildlife, especially jellyfish.
We took the little boat up the creeks and saw some of the most picturesque
areas. We ate at Captain George's restaurant and we visited the
Chesapeake Maritime Museum... now this is a museum not to miss! We
toured the lighthouse first, then the boat building yard, and then inside -
WOW! Very well done and a great place to visit.
