ERIE CANAL 2007:

SUMMER 2007:

Remington

We tied the boat up at the lock about 2 miles below Ilion, where the Remington Plant is, so we took the dinghy up the canal and walked about a half mile to the plant.  We saw the museum and gift shop, but the plant tours are only during the summer month (should have stopped on our way up the Erie).  The museum was impressive, we didn't realize Remington made typewriters and bicycles, too.

This town had a lot of charm - and eclectic sites like the RIP for sale sign and the mannequin lady watering her flowers in her Sunday dress.
